CDL- CLASS A DRIVER
The CDL- CLASS A Driver is responsible for driving the lowboy tractor trailer. The Driver is responsible for understanding the height and weight restrictions of the equipment, loading, safely securing, transporting, and unloading equipment to and from customer premises.
Essential Job Functions
Loading equipment on to a Landoll Trailer in a safe, damage free manner. May include the loading of farm and construction equipment.
Operate transport of various forklifts and aerial lifts to assigned locations observing all traffic regulations and safe driving practices. May include the transport of farm and construction equipment.
Conduct unloading of forklifts and aerial forklifts from transport vehicle in a safe, damage free manner. May include the unloading of farm and construction equipment.
Complete all documentation associated with equipment transport or service.
General warehouse clean-up and equipment organization in warehouse as needed.
Operate various forklifts, aerial lifts, farm and construction equipment.
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Must be over the age of 23
Valid CDL Class A driver’s license
Safe driving record
1 to 3 years driving a semi-truck and trailer
1 to 3 years loading and unloading equipment including chaining and securing loads
Thorough knowledge of Federal DOT laws, pre- and post-trip inspections.
Thorough understanding Federal DOT Cargo Securement Laws.
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) to three (3) years driving a flatbed
Good organizational, time management and customer service skills
High school diploma or equivalent
The ability to work accurately and meet deadlines
Positive and friendly attitude toward customers and fellow team members
Must be able to follow directions both written and verbally
Working Conditions
Driver will be home every night
No weekends
Workday is usually over by 4:30pm
Physical requirements necessary include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, most of the time with infrequent opportunities to sit.
Must be able to lift or exert force of up to 50 pounds with occasional need to lift or exert up to and sometimes over 100 pounds
Ability to work in wet or humid conditions, as well as extreme cold or heat
Ability to sit and drive for prolonged periods of time
Physical ability to load and unload vehicles on carrier
Occasionally may be required to perform work in the evenings or on weekends
